Mission Affordable at Powderhorn

Plan & Purchase

Powderhorn established Mission Affordable in 2017 to publicly declare our commitment to accessibility as a constant focus of our brand and our values. Our Resort founders were deeply passionate about sharing the joy of the slopes with friends and neighbors—and sixty years later, we’re still dedicated to making first-timers into life-timers. From our low-cost programs and products for newcomers, to our simple, transparent Season Pass pricing and affordable dining options, our goal is to make it as easy as possible to get here and stay here. Whether you ski, snowboard, or have yet to begin, our community invites you to join the generations of friends and family that have made the Grand Mesa truly one-of-a-kind.

As the westernmost ski area in Colorado, Powderhorn offers an experience that’s a little bit different from the big resorts to the east. Here, you’ll find that the lift lines are shorter, the runs are less crowded, and the food and drinks are cheaper—not just the tickets, passes, and rentals! We pride ourselves on offering some of the best value in the state, and we’ve incorporated several initiatives under the Mission Affordable name. We encourage those that have never been on the snow to come learn here, with our progressive beginner zones, certified instructors, and family-friendly atmosphere. To the experienced skier and snowboarder, we offer our 1,650 vertical feet of intermediate and advanced trails, aspen & pine glades, and volcanic boulder fields, on a budget-friendly pass with no blackouts or limits. Use the buttons above to explore our competitive pricing, or read on to find out more about each element of our Mission.

Bob Beverly Free Learn to Ski or Ride Program

Bob Beverly was one of Powderhorn’s founders, inducted into the Colorado Snowsports Museum Hall of Fame in 2000. We honor his legacy with the Bob Beverly Free Learn-to-Ski program: On select dates each winter, guests who have never skied and never snowboarded can try up to three days of a single discipline with free rentals, tickets, and group lessons.

Those who complete three lessons in the program—over 3,000 skiers and snowboarders to date—are eligible for $99 Rookie Season Passes and $199 Sophmore Season Passes, reinforcing the transition from beginning skier to lifelong athlete.

Day Tickets, 4-Packs, and Season Passes

Powderhorn offers two kinds of Day Tickets for visitors: All-Mountain and Easy Rider. For beginners, families, and anyone keeping it mellow, the Easy Rider Ticket offers access to our beginner terrain, two surface lifts, and our low-speed double chairlift. Upgrade to an All-Mountain Ticket to ride our two high-speed detachable quad chairlifts and explore all our trails, glades, and terrain parks. Both kinds of Day Tickets are discounted on our WebShop—plan ahead to save money and avoid capacity limits on busy days.

For a limited time at the beginning of each winter, we offer another way to save: Mission Affordable 4-Packs, valid for any person on any day of the season. With a 4-Pack, you’ll avoid blackout dates and peak pricing on holidays and weekends, resulting in savings up to 40% off All-Mountain Day Tickets. Buy early and stock up for the whole season! 4-Pack Tickets are valid all year, but sales end in December.

If you love our mountain and decide to stay awhile, our Mission Affordable Season Passes let you ski every day of the season—that’s 100 days or more—for the cost of one week. To those that commit early, we offer our lowest price: purchase Mission Affordable Passes before our spring season ends to get the following season for nearly half-off the regular price. If it’s your first Pass, you’ll also get complimentary access for the spring you purchase in! Decreasing discounts are offered over the course of the year, and the full pricing schedule is always available to plan ahead.

Day Tickets, 4-Packs, and Season Passes

Across Powderhorn, guests will find dining options that are convenient, approachable, and easy to enjoy. From classic fare hot off the Sunset Grill to fresh flatbreads, tea & coffee, and plant-based choices at the Quickdraw Cafe, the resort offers a range of choices for families, first-timers, passholders, and visitors spending a full day on the Mesa.

In addition to our two resturaunts, we offer drafts, mixed drinks, and cans at the Umbrella Bar, plus made-to-order tacos and more from the Thunderbird Taco trailer. Sack lunches are welcome in the Base Lodge lunchroom and on the Sunset Deck. Whether guests are looking for something hot and hearty, a quick snack before heading back out, or just a drink to crack open with their lunchbox, we’ve got value-concious offerings and rotating food and drink specials.
