The Children’s Learning Center (CLC) is for children ages 3-7. Private lessons are available for all ages and required for ages 3-4, group lessons are only available for ages 5-7. (For lessons for ages 8+, visit our Lessons & Bundles page.)
Your child will love our enthusiastic, caring instructors and terrain-based learning environment. We want your child’s experience at Powderhorn to be as fun and as safe as possible!
Where To Go
When booking or checking in for lessons, your first stop on the mountain is the Ski and Ride desk, located in the Base Lodge. From the Resort’s main front entrance, walk up the first flight of gray stairs and look left.
The Children’s Learning Center is located on the ground floor at the west end of the lodge. From outside, while facing the front doors of the lodge, you will see the Children’s Learning Center sign below the Bob Beverly Check-In to your right, and the door is to the right of the employee entrance. The CLC is open daily from 8:30-3:30. Come say hi!
Children’s Learning Center Lesson Rates
Lessons start at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. daily. Rates below are priced per student. View pricing and dates for last winter below—Winter 2026-27 pricing and dates will be similar.

Bundle and Save
We offer discounted rates on equipment rentals and lift tickets with the purchase of a lesson! If you purchase add-ons, go directly to the Ski and Ride counter when you arrive. The Ski & Ride Center is located on the second level of the main lodge, on the left at the top of the blue stairs. Check in 1 hour prior to your scheduled lesson.
Rental Equipment Add-On
The Ski and Ride counter will provide you with rental documents before you head to the rental shop! Rental price includes ski or snowboard, bindings, boots, and helmet. Goggles or sports sunglasses are recommended—you can bring your own or purchase at our retail store.

Lift Ticket Add-On
You can print or reload your RFID cards at the Ski and Ride counter. RFID cards are required and can be purchased with tickets for an additional $5.

Children’s Learning Center Cancellation Policy
Please note, lessons may be cancelled and rescheduled or refunded with 48 hours notice. Lessons will not be rescheduled or refunded if less than 48 hours notice is given or in the event that you do not arrive for your lesson.
Proper Clothing
We’re in Colorado, expect every kind of weather. All guests should wear winter and snow appropriate coats, snow pants, hats or helmets, mittens or gloves, and goggles or sunglasses. Wear only one pair of socks to avoid slipping and bunching inside your ski boots. Sun exposure increases at altitude – we recommend sunscreen and lip protection.
