Ski & Snowboard
Skiing and snowboarding at Powderhorn offer the perfect blend of big-mountain terrain and small-mountain charm. With 1,600 acres and 1,650 vertical feet on the Grand Mesa, riders of all levels can explore wide-open groomers, playful glades, and hidden powder stashes. Whether you’re linking your first turns or carving corduroy at sunrise, Powderhorn’s friendly atmosphere, shorter lift lines, and stunning high-desert views make every day on the snow feel like something special.
Our last Winter Season began November 22, 2024, and ended April 7, 2025. We expect similar dates for the upcoming Winter 25-26 Season!

Ski and Snowboard Lessons
From the first-timer to the seasoned skier that needs a brush-up, Powderhorn's experienced and certified instructors will help you meet your ski or snowboard goals. If you're just starting out, we offer beginner terrain accessed by the Easy Rider chairlift. Learn to control your speed, reduce your fear, and enhance your skill quickly and efficiently.

Lesson Rates
Group lessons start at 10:30a.m. and 1:30p.m. daily. Rates below are priced per student.

Bundle and Save
We offer discounted rates on equipment rentals and lift tickets with the purchase of a lesson! If you purchase add-ons, go directly to the Ski and Ride Center when you arrive. The Ski & Ride Center is located on the second level of the main lodge, on the left at the top of the blue stairs. Check in 1 hour prior to your scheduled lesson.
Rental Equipment Add-On
The Ski and Ride Center will provide you with rental documents before you head to the rental shop. Rental price includes ski or snowboard, bindings, boots, and helmet.

Lesson Cancellation Policy
Please note, lessons may be cancelled and rescheduled or refunded with 48 hours notice. Lessons will not be rescheduled or refunded if less than 48 hours notice is given or in the event that you do not arrive for your lesson.
Bob Beverly Free Learn to Ski or Ride
As one of Powderhorn's founders, Bob Beverly wanted to make skiing and snowboardong to be affordable and accessible to everyone. We honor his legacy with the Bob Beverly Free Learn-to-Ski program – for a limited time each season, guests who have never skied and never snowboarded can try up to three days of a single discipline with free rentals, tickets, and group lessons.
