Daily Sentinel/Channel 11 Learn to Ski or Ride Season Pass Series:
Are you a first-time skier or rider? If so, there is no better deal on the mountain for you! Designed for first timers ages 8 and up, you must be new to either the sport of skiing or snowboarding and ready to commit to three lessons. At the end of these lessons, you'll have a great foundation and be able to take your new skills all over the mountain. Best of all, when you complete all three sessions, you will get a FREE season pass for the rest of the season!Think about it: you get three lessons, you learn a new sport, and you can come back and practice, improve and have fun as many days as you want with your free season pass! Like we said, there's simply no better deal!
*This is a full day Group Lesson with an hour break for lunch.
Lessons run from 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm.

Multi Week Youth Programs
For our Mavericks, Freeriders Powdercats, and Powdercubs programs, we are happy to offer our Season Long Rental Program, along with Free Transportation from Grand Junction!
Transportation: New for the 2012-2013 Season - Rocky Mountain Orthopedic Association and St. Mary's Hospital are providing FREE bus service from Grand Junction to the resort for any child involved in these Multi Week Youth Programs. Information on pick-up times and locations are available upon registration.
Rental Program: Rent Skis (snowboards not available for Season Long rental program) for the 2012-2023 Season from Powderhorn’s Rental Shop. Rates are $99 for well-maintained, used equipment or $129 for new equipment. For more information, please click here.

Mavericks
Just for teens, the Mavericks skiing and riding clinics make it fun and cool to improve your skills! Groups are divided by ability, with an emphasis on safely building all-mountain skills. Love to freeride? We've got a group for you. Is Park your thing? There is a park-specific option as well.Mavericks is designed for all teens who ski and ride green to black runs.
Mavericks begin on January 5th, 2013 and continues each Saturday and Sunday through March 24th, 2013 with 3 four week sessions. Discounts are available for multiple sessions. All you need now is to bring your friends!

Freeriders
Freeriders is an four-week program for kids ages 8-12 who are ready to learn to ski and ride the whole mountain. With an emphasis on fun and safety, parents will know their kids are in good hands, while the kids will be having the time of their lives learning with friends!Freeriders is designed for children who ski and ride green to black.
Freeriders begin on January 5th, 2013 and continues each Saturday and Sunday through March 24th, 2013 with 3 four week sessions. Kids can sign up for as many sessions as they would like. Discounts are available for multiple sessions. What could be more fun?

Powdercats
Powderhorn's marquee program for kids, Powdercats is a skill advancement series for children ages 5-8. Powdercats runs for 3 four week sessions, with two bonus days available, for up to 6 weeks of consecutive classes! The clinics emphasize skill improvement, fun and safety while exploring the whole mountain. Powdercats is not appropriate for first-time skiers or riders and all Powdercats must exhibit the ability to stop before the first lesson. But be prepared! After graduating from Powdercats your little skier or rider is just going to want to go, go, go!The Powdercats program runs from 1:00pm - 3:30pm each day.
Powdercats program does not include lift tickets or season passes.

Powdercubs (Just for 4 Year-Olds)
A multi-week program for little skiers and riders, Powdercubs, is a new program just for four year-olds! Powdercubs is specifically designed for littler bodies and shorter attention spans, with an emphasis on developing skills, fun and safety. Powdercubs will build your child's basic skills and set the stage for a lifetime of winter fun! Powdercubs is structured similarly to Powdercats. It is not designed for first-time skiers or riders, and all students must exhibit the ability to stop before the first lesson.The Powdercubs program runs from 1:00pm - 3:30pm.

Telemark Clinic
Telemark skiing is very popular at Powderhorn! If you've been inspired to take up Nordic downhilling or you want to improve upon your existing skills, join the Ski and Ride School for one or more tele clinics! These one-day clinics are open to all levels of telemark skiers, beginning to advanced.The clinics are held on Saturdays, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Young at Heart
One of the most popular programs at Powderhorn, Young at Heart is back again for 2012-2013! If you're a skier or rider, over age 50, come join us every Thursday to ski with friends and a guide from the Ski and Ride School. Groups are divided by ability, with an emphasis on fun, camaraderie and ski time! Stay after the lifts close for the weekly apres ski party in the Sunset Grille.Young at Heart begins on December 20th and continues every Thursday until the mountain closes in spring.

Telefest
Telefest will be held on Saturday March 2nd, 2013.The Ski and Ride School is excited to be sponsoring the ever-popular Powderhorn Telefest! Join telemark skiers from across Colorado for our Teleclinics, Uphill/Downhill Polka Run, Costume Contest, and the band Lorin Walker Madsen and the Hustlers! We will have Summit Canyon, Gene Taylors, and the Board and Buckle up to demo the latest equipment! Not to mention, these sponsors will be donatng gear for our Telefest Raffle! If you are signed up for our Telefest Clinic, or Uphill/Downhill Polka Race, or After-Tele-Party, you will receive a Raffle Ticket FOR FREE! Don't forget about our After-Tele-Party where we will have hors d'oeuvres, 2 drink tickets, Live Music, Costume Contest and Raffle!
What is an Uphill/Downhill Polka Run?
Bring your Skins or Snowshoes and be prepared to trek up, down, and around to find our Polka Boxes! Each box is filled with random articles of clothing. You must dress yourself with one of these items before you can trek onto the next box! Whoever is the BEST DRESSED (clothing items may be incorporated into your already present costume), will win a prize!

ReservationsYou can reserve lessons by calling (970) 268-5700 ext. 2080. Reservations are essential for all Powderhorn Special Programs. Reservations are subject to product availability and products may sell out at any time. Day-of reservations will be accommodated as space and time allow. No other discounts apply to these programs and events and they cannot be combined with any other offer or promotion.
Cancelations
Special programs must cancelled by 2 p.m. the day prior to the first day of the program, not during the program itself.
Start times
All activities begin promptly at their designated times. Please allow a minimum of 60 minutes to arrange for equipment rentals and arrival at your designated meeting place. As a courtesy to on-time skiers, we are not able to accommodate late arrivals. Refunds will not be issued.
