Grab your gear and head to Powderhorn for Gold's Games! Gold's Gym has designed 8 events to test your strength and endurance and a Team TUG-OF-WAR! You may pre-register to be entered in all 8 events listed below or you may register for individual events as you choose. Any event you choose to compete in you may do as many times as possible throughout the day to better your time.

- If you wish to enter as a team the only rule is that your team must compete in all 8 events. It does not matter how many people are on your team.
- You may pre-register as an individual to do all 8 events
- Register the day of for a specific event
- Six (6) person teams

Event #1: WTF Hill Climb (Where’s the Finish) - Participants have to sprint race to midway portion of the Take Four Quad and return to the bottom covering 1 mile and 530 feet of elevation gain/loss.
Event #2: Partner Log Walk - Logs are set up in a zig-zag pattern and one participant carries a second participant as far as possible before stepping off the log. Once a foot touches the ground the distance is recorded.
Event #3: P.O.D. Long Jump (Pit of Despair) - Let's see how far you can jump... take off from one leg at jump point, land with both feet measure distance.
Event #4: Reindeer Games Sled Pull - Have a weight loaded sled attached to the participant by a harness. Objective is to sprint as fast as you can up the mountain slope for a predetermined distance and record the time.
Event #5: Log Carry Gauntlet - Carry a long log across a predetermined obstacle course. Participants can stop and put the log down and continue on. This is a timed event.
Event #6: Overhead Tire Toss - Gripping the tire with both hands in a “granny style” let the tire swing backwards slightly between the legs, then as hard as you can toss the tire directly overhead and over a bar set up at a predetermined height of 10 feet. The bar will be raised 1 foot after every successful toss. You get three tries at each height to successfully get the tire over the pole.
Event #7: Square Peg Tire Flip Race - You have two sized tires. One size for the men and one size for the women. A landmark will be placed in the ground approx. 10 yards away. This event is a timed event. The goal of this event is to flip the tire to travel it around the pole and back to the starting point and record the time.
Event #8: Stone Put - This event is similar to the modern-day shot put as seen in the Olympic Games. Instead of a steel shot, a large stone of variable weight is often used. There are also some differences from the Olympic shot put in allowable techniques. There are two versions of the stone toss events, differing in allowable technique. The "Braemar Stone" uses a 20–26 lb stone for men (13–18 lb for women) and does not allow any run up to the toeboard or "trig" to deliver the stone, i.e., it is a standing put. In the "Open Stone" using a 16–22 lb stone for men (or 8–12 lb for women), the thrower is allowed to use any throwing style so long as the stone is put with one hand with the stone resting cradled in the neck until the moment of release. Most athletes in the open stone event use either the "glide" or the "spin" techniques.
Event #9: Team Tug of War - Basic Tug of War Rules. Six (6) person teams over a mud pit. Which ever team can drag the other team into the mud...wins. Click here for Tug-Of-War rules.
