MESA, Colo. August 27, 2013 - Powderhorn Mountain Resort (Powderhorn) announces fall season pass sales for 2013-14 beginning Friday, Aug. 30. The resort continues to enhance its season pass products with value-added opportunities to experience other great Colorado resorts. This year’s line up includes renewed partnerships with Aspen/Snowmass, Steamboat Ski Resort (Steamboat), Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) and Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort, and a new alliance with Sunlight Mountain Resort (Sunlight).

The 2013-14 Plan for Powder season pass sale runs through December 10, 2013. Pre-season pass purchase is available at the Powderhorn ticket office during the resort’s Fall Fest and annual Color Weekend events, Sept. 21-22 and Sept. 28-29, 2013, and at remote pass sales locations all over the Grand Valley. Passes also can be purchased online at the Powderhorn e-store. To find remote pass sale locations or to purchase a pass online, visit the website at Prices for an adult full-season pass start at $459, which represents the best pricing for the 2013-14 season.

“Our passholders are dedicated, passionate skiers and riders,” said Daren Cole, Powderhorn Mountain Resort general manager. “We are thrilled to offer five unique partnerships that allow our loyal guests to experience 8 major Colorado resorts, in addition to Powderhorn, featuring thousands of acres of winter fun.”

Powderhorn alliances feature unique partnership privileges at five resorts: Aspen/Snowmass, Steamboat, CBMR, Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort and Sunlight. Each offers an exclusive opportunity with the purchase of one convenient Powderhorn pass product.

At Aspen/Snowmass, Powderhorn adult pass holders can purchase the “Classic Pass,” valid at all four of the company’s resorts: Aspen, Snowmass, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk. This special Classic Pass offer features a four-day option that allows guests to ski or ride for less than $55 per day, in addition to discounts on extension days and summer lift access. “We are thrilled to join with Powderhorn and offer their loyal skiers and riders the opportunity to explore Aspen/Snowmass and all that Western Colorado has to offer,” said Jeff Hanle, director of public relations for Aspen Skiing Company.

Steamboat offers Powderhorn pass holders an opportunity to purchase the Steamboat 5 Pack for $149 (a $350 value). The Steamboat 5 Pack is unrestricted (no blackout dates) and includes five days of skiing or riding valid any day at Steamboat. This opportunity is available with all non-transferable Powderhorn season passes.

At CBMR, Powderhorn season pass holders receive unlimited half-price lift tickets, as well as three free lift tickets when lodging is booked through Crested Butte Vacations (reference the Powderhorn Pass Holder Package at 800-341-5431). This offer is available to full-season Powderhorn pass holders, and there are no blackout dates.

“The pass reciprocity we hold with Powderhorn is such a great added value for our pass holders and theirs,” said Scott Clarkson, vice president of sales and marketing for CBMR. “With being less than three hours from Grand Junction to Crested Butte, skiers can take advantage of the discounts and where the snow is flying, no matter the day of the season.”

Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort is offering three half-price lift tickets for Powderhorn pass holders in 2013-2014. This offer is available to full-season Powderhorn pass holders, and there are no blackout dates. “Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort is the perfect basecamp for a Southwest Colorado winter experience,” said Sven Brunso, vice president of sales and marketing for the resort.

Sunlight also is offering up to three half-price lift tickets, with no blackout dates or restrictions, for full-season Powderhorn pass holders. “Sunlight is happy to be partnering with Powderhorn this season in efforts to give our pass holders and theirs the opportunity to explore new mountains and try new things,” said Sunlight marketing manager Jennie Spallane.
