In its unique location, where the desert meets the mountain, Powderhorn is nestled on the edge of Grand Mesa and surrounded by over 360,000 acres of Grand Mesa National Forest. Just 35 miles east of Grand Junction, the slopes of Powderhorn are located 4,000 feet above the Grand Valley floor. Powderhorn combines wonderful skiing and snowboarding with breathtaking views in a friendly personal atmosphere. The base elevation is 8,200' with a vertical drop of 1650'. Powderhorn prides itself in offering tremendous value for great winter fun.
Powderhorn has full base area facilities and the mountain layout feeds into the central base area. There are no long lift lines or expensive lift tickets. We're proud of our groomed 'corduroy' but there are plenty of challenging bump runs and glades to play in. Powder stashes can be found all day on Powderhorn's uncrowded slopes.
If you've never been on skis or a snowboard, Powderhorn is an easy place to learn. Spend time with certified instructors who genuinely love to teach. The classes are small and kids under 8 ski and play in their own area. Develop your skills while having fun!
The Inn at Wildewood is just steps from the lift with ski in/ski out lodging. Ski for half price when you stay at the Inn any day. The rooms are mini suites, each with a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and TV. There is also a luxurious condo that sleeps up to 10. The Family Room at the Inn is a relaxing retreat for guests with a fireplace, big screen TV, games, books and a corner for children. Upstairs is Wildewood Restaurant, a beautiful full service restaurant with gourmet pizza, pasta, salads and sandwiches in a fun relaxed atmosphere. It's a great place to watch your favorite sports event on one of several TVs.
The kids won't get lost and the family friendly attitude makes it the ideal getaway for a day, a weekend, or longer. Powderhorn is a place with no crowds and no hassles.
Let us be your host for your mountain adventure at Powderhorn.
