For Immediate Release
POWDERHORN PUSHES BACK OPENING BY TWO DAYS
Powderhorn Resort Announces Official Opening Day for the 2007-08 Ski Season
Mesa,
CO, December 3, 2007:
Officials at Powderhorn Resort announced today that opening day,
originally scheduled for Thursday, December 6, would be moved to
Saturday, December 8. A recent snowstorm left 24 inches of new snow at
the summit helping build a solid base. Another storm is possible this
week.
“Recent snowstorms have certainly helped”, said
Powderhorn’s Marketing Director, Sarah Allen, “but we’d like just a
little more snow to ensure a safe, quality product.”
Opening Weekend Events
To celebrate the opening of the resort, the first 100 people in line
will receive prizes from Chick-fil-A, Gene Taylor’s Sporting Goods, the
Alpine Trader, and Summit Canyon Mountaineering.
Santa
will be at Wildewood Restaurant from 9am-11am on Saturday for the
pancake breakfast. Kids can have their picture taken with Santa and
make ornaments. Proceeds from the breakfast will benefit Hospice of
Plateau Valley.
A full season of events is scheduled with
something for everyone. A great addition to the annual events schedule
is Guest Appreciation Day, January 12, 2008. Lift tickets are just $25
that day and there will be games and prizes all over the mountain.
