We welcome all first-timers to our new lift-accessible mountain biking trails! Take a lap down our newly constructed green trail, Mutton Buster. Powderhorn also offers bike clinics for all ages and skill levels. Just want to enjoy the views? Take a scenic lift ride that will take you from the base of Powderhorn to the top and back down in approximately 20 minutes. Scenic Lift Rides
Enjoy the views at a leisurly pace. Powderhorn offers $12 scenic chair rides, during summer operations only, for ages 7 and up. Kids 6 and under ride free with the purchase of an adult lift ticket. Ride to the top and hike around or complete the 20 minute round trip voyage. There's always something new to see at Powderhorn!
All riders must be able to load/unload on their own to ride the Flat Top Flyer. Please no children in backbacks or dogs on chairlift.Read More

Are the downhill mountain biking trails suitable for beginners and children?
We offer two trails that are suitable for children and beginners. First try our newly constructed green trail designed for families, Mutton Buster. This trail is the perfect intro to mountain biking or a warm-up lap. Then head to the challenging but accessible, Blue Ribbon.
When can I ride the lift?
Saturdays & Sundays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. A lift pass is available for these times, see our summer pass and tickets page for more information.
Can I rent a mountain bike?
Yes, our rental shop is fully stocked for the summer with a complete range of bicycles for all ages. See our rentals page for more information.
Can I just ride the lift?
Yes, you can purchase a single lift ticket for a scenic round-trip lift ride on the Flat Top Flyer. Once at the top, you can get off the lift and hike the West Bench trail, or the Grand Overlook Trail, or stay on the lift for a colorful lift ride back down.
How much is a lift ticket?
You can purchase a day pass ticket for $25 or a single ride ticket for just $12. Also check out our season passes and package deals.
What should I wear?
Always check the weather before heading up to Powderhorn. Try dressing in layers, this will allow you to take off and add layers when needed. Closed toe shoes are required to get onto the lift. Check out the Alpine Trader, located in the rental shop, for any extra clothing or protective equipment you may need. Be sure to wear sunscreen and bug spray!
Can I Ride my bike uphill and use the downhill trails?
Yes, you can! Stagecoach is a dedicated uphill only trail. Please stop by the Powderhorn Rental Shop to pick up a complementary Uphill lift ticket. Once you reach the top, you are welcome to head down any of the dedicated downhill trails.
*warning* Uphill trail periodically crosses downhill trails, uphill traffic must yield to downhill traffic at these crossings.
